MinTrans: In Kyiv the traffic along the Darnytsky bridge launched

Kyiv saw launch of traffic through the Darnytsky Bridge which tied the banks of the Dnipro with two railway lines and a motorway with six lanes.

Participating at the opening ceremony were Vice Prime Minister Ivan Vasiunyk, Minister of Transport and Communications Yosyp Vinsky, General Director of Ukraliznytsya Mykhaylo Kostiuk, head of South-Western Railroad Olexiy Kryvopishyn, head of Road Committee of Trade Union of Railway Workers Anatolii Fursa and head of Kyiv Directorate of South-Western Railway Volodymyr Osovyk.

The bridge was built according to an ordinance of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of July 13, 2004. The lengh of the bridge is 1066 metres. The estimate cost of construction works totals UAH 9 billion 1157 million.

On making his speech during the event Vice Premier Ivan Vasiunyk stressted the Darnytsky Bridge appeared one of the objects of the Euro-2012 preparation plan.
