President Victor Yushchenko took part in a ceremony of presentation of a National Book of Memory opening commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
Speaking at the event President Yushchenko thanked all the researchers, who took part in preparation of 19 volumes of the book, including those from Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, chaired by Ihor Yukhnovsky.
He also thanked all international organizations, such as the UN, UNESCO, Council of Europe, for their position on the Great Famine of 1932-1933 and to Ukrainian diplomats who put their efforts in informing international community about the tragedy of the Great Famine.
After the presentation President Yushchenko took a tour of the exhibition ‘Holodomor 1932-1933. Genocide against Ukrainian nation’ that was prepared by Institute of National Memory and depicting events of 1932-1933.
