In Baku President Victor Yushchenko met with President the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
At the meeting sides have discussed Ukrainian-Azerbaijani bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, energy, humanitarian fields.
The two leaders affirmed preparation to working visit of President Yushchenko to Azerbaijan in February-March 2009. During that visit the first sitting of Presidents Council is to be arranged for discussing cooperation in oil and gas trade and military cooperation.
When discussing energy cooperation the two Presidents dedicated their attention to implementation of Euro-Asian oil transport route on the basis of Odesa-Brody pipeline.
At the meeting President Yushchenko stressed expectancy that Azerbaijan would support Ukraine in international recognition and condemnation of Holodomor 1932-1933.
