President hosts dinner for Libyan leader

President Victor Yushchenko hosted a state dinner in honor of Libyan Leader Muammar al-Gaddafi, who stays in Ukraine with a three-day state visit.

In his speech at the event President said that this year is special for Ukrainian-Libyan relations as the agenda of bilateral events is extremely busy.

“I am absolutely sure that wide horizons of our cooperation in trade and investment will soon be filled with large-scaled and mutually beneficial projects for the welfare of our nations”, - he said.

According to him Libya became a wide-open gate to African continent for Ukraine and that thanks to efforts of the leader of that country.

President wished his Libyan colleague health, happiness and inexhaustible energy, and peace, progress and prosperity to Libyan nation.

From his part, Muammar al-Gaddafi expressed gratitude for the invitation and warm welcoming in Kyiv. He said that he was satisfied with the talks, sides had today adding that the two countries have full mutual understanding on many questions in regional and international relations. “We hope that our bilateral relations would be mutually beneficial”, - he added.
