President Victor Yushchenko wrote a letter to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
In his letter President informed the Prime Minister that according to information he received from Central Election Commission, 417,5 million hryvnyas are required to hold pre-term parliamentary election on December 7, 2008.
According to President the problem is that the Verkhovna Rada cannot allot these funds through introduction of appropriate alterations to 2008 budget, because its functioning was discontinued.
Therefore President Yushchenko asked the Government to take the sum needed for holding the election out of budgetary reserve, which’s purpose is financing unforeseen expenses.
To execute that, President Yushchenko asked Prime Minister Tymoshenko to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet on October 11, 2008 to discuss the issue and to provide the funds.
