Within the framework of his visit to Turkey, President Victor Yushchenko met the Prime Minister of the republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During the meeting sides have discussed bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey particularly in economy, trade energy, space exploration, military, tourism, etc.
When making remarks on state of affairs between the counties both sides stressed appreciation of their development especially in trade and economic field.
For their further development the sides expressed for establishment of a free trade zone between Ukraine and Turkey.
Here President Yushchenko suggested inviting the European Commission to the talks thus making them trilateral, explaining his suggestion with the fact that Ukraine already conducts similar negotiations with the European Union.
Also Ukrainian side offered our country’s experience in space exploration with regard to Turkey’s plans to develop its space program.
