Ukrainian military officers visiting Romania to discuss planning of Ukraine-Romania exercise of mountain-infantry units

A final conference dedicated to organization and all-round support of a Ukraine-Romania tactic exercise of mountain-infantry units started in the Romanian town of Curtea de Arges, as reported with reference to the Defense Ministry press-service. The meeting participants will define a type of the drills, unit's numerical strength, arms and materiel, conception, terms and scenario of the exercise, field reconnaissance etc.

According to the Defense Ministry, similar joint manoeuvres will be first conducted in autumn 2008. The future exercise will run as a game, while soldiers will have to overcome hard-to-reach mountain areas of Romania.

The final conference on planning of the Ukraine-Romania tactic exercise will last till July 10.
