President demands urgent reaction to disaster in western Ukraine

In Ivano-Frankivsk region President Victor Yushchenko took part in a meeting of the executive staff, managing consequences of natural disaster in the western part of Ukraine.

At the meeting President informed that in the evening he would sign a decree on measures of managing the disaster. He also asked Prime Minister and Minister for Emergencies to prepare their suggestions to the draft decree in the nearest one and a half to two hours.

In addition President Yushchenko gave a number of instructions on management of the disaster. According to him the damages must be calculated in next three days.

He also put a task to begin restoration of the damaged territories immediately after rescuing works are finished.

Besides, President addressed business circles of Ukraine with a request to provide victims of the disaster with charity support.
