After the events at the square in front of St. Sophia Cathedral within the framework of celebration of 1020th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus’ President Victor Yushchenko, Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk, other officials and public figures, representatives of Orthodox Church branches, walked over to Mykhaylivska Square.
There they honored Holodomor 1932-1933 victims by laying wreaths near the monument to those lost in the tragedy. Also Patriarch Bartholomew conducted a requiem service for the souls of those innocently killed in 1932-1933.
