Gross grain yield will exceed forecast of 40.4 million tons, Agrarian Minister Yuriy Melnyk told a press-conference.
According to him, the index specification planned to be announced on July 17 is caused by the fact that ahead of the harvesting campaign all the estimates were based on data of sown areas available and a range of regions underestimated them in summary documents. However, now, when 10% cereals have been harvested, the situation has changed towards increase in results, the minister noted.
