The polytechnic institutes in Kyiv and Kharkiv and the National Mining University became the best technical institutions in Ukraine in 2007.
Specialists from the UNESCO Chair in Higher Technical Education, Applied System Analysis and Informatics made such an assessment of Ukraine's higher educational establishments.
The experts assessed the quality of work at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at 75 points. The institute received 41 points for scientific and pedagogical potential. The Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute received 30 points, and the National Mining University 21 points.
The top five leading higher educational institutions also include the National Aviation University (20.3 points) and the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (20.2 points).
