During a session of the economic and social council of the United Nations Organization, Ukraine was admitted to the Sustainable Development Commission for 2009 - 2012, the Ukrainian foreign ministry press service reported.
Ukraine was also unanimously elected a member of the UN committee for program and coordination in 2009 - 2011.
Ukraine's participation in those bodies attests, in the ministry's opinion, to its high prestige at the UN, and the international community's support for Ukraine's activity in social, economic and financial areas.
