Ukraine in talks with Romania on local border traffic agreement

Ukraine and Romania have started a negotiating process on signing an agreement on local border traffic, Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Yeliseev said during a briefing on Wednesday. He expressed hope that an agreement on local border traffic with Slovakia would be signed in May 2008. Yeliseev said similar agreements had already been signed with Hungary and Poland.

The agreement on local border traffic foresees visa-free travels across the border for citizens living in a radius of 30-50 kilometers from the border.
