Victor Yushchenko held talks with President Valdas Adamkus.
The two
Presidents discussed development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Lithuania in economic, political,
humanitarian fields.
Discussing Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations
with President Adamkus, President Yushchenko stressed to him that Ukraine highly appreciates Lithuania’s support in that question and
expressed gratitude to Lithuanian side for its firm favorable position
regarding Ukraine
during NATO Bucharest Summit. Separately Victor Yushchenko thanked Valdas Adamkus
for rendering assistance in adopting by Vilnius
local government the decision on placing a monument to Taras Shevchenko in the
center of the city.
