In Jerusalem President Victor
Yushchenko took part in Facing Tomorrow Conference timed to State of Israel's
60th anniversary. At the conference, which was hosted by President Shimon Peres
of Israel
and gathered 12 current and former presidents from around the world as well as
distinct public figures, Victor Yushchenko held a number of meetings with his colleagues
from abroad.
With President Lech Kaczynski of
Poland President Yushchenko discussed the coming Kyiv Energy Summit.
At his
meetings with Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia,
President Stjepan Mesic of Croatia,
President Nambaryn Enkhbayar President Yushchenko discussed bilateral relations
development between Ukraine
and these leaders’ countries.
During the conversation with Tony Blair Victor Yushchenko
dwelled on a subject of Middle East conflicts management as well as on Ukraine’s NATO
aspirations and our country’s chances of gaining MAP in December 2008.
President
also met with USSR
last leader Mykhailo Gorbachev. The parties discussed questions of European security,
aspects of Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, etc.
