President demands access to national media for Crimea

President
Victor Yushchenko wrote a letter today to Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko
drawing her attention to specialty of social-political situation in Crimea as well as negative informational influence exerted
on the region by neighboring states.

According
to President such situation requires effective response from state authorities,
and particularly from the Cabinet of Ministers, aimed at forming national
information policy in the region. Therefore he put a task before the Government
together with National Television and Radio broadcasting Council, Council of Ministers
of Crimea and other ministries concerned, to ensure in two weeks term proper access of the region to
national mass media and provide coverage of distant and mountain located
villages by national radio and TV programs.
