In keeping with the information Ukraine's Embassy to Latvia obtained from the police office of Ventspils and a liner captain, the arrest of a Ukrainian citizen, captain's mate from the Mona Lisa vessel, has not been confirmed, the MFA press service told.
The Embassy continues following developments over the vessel.
As reported, cruise liner Mona Lisa took the ground 18 kilometers off Latvian coast on May 4, with 972 passengers aboard. Flying Bahamas' colors, the ship was on its Gdansk - Riga - Tallinn route. It has 68 Ukrainian citizens among the crew. No casualties have been reported.
