The Agricultural Policy Ministry expects an increase of the rape yield to 2.2 million tons against previous forecast at 1.6 million tons in 2008, Deputy Agricultural Policy Minister Yaroslav Hadzalo addressed a business forum in frames of the EBRD annual meeting in Kyiv.
He recalled that in accordance with the State Target Program on the Ukrainian Village Development till 2015 it is planned to boost oil crop seeds output to 14 million tons, including rape - to 6 million tons till 2015.
In 2007 the Ukrainian agrarians reaped 1,053 million tons of rape. They sowed 1,533.6 million tons of the winter rape for the 2008 harvest. Vast majority of the rape crops is in good and satisfactory condition, scientists say.
