Presidents of Ukraine, Poland open economic forum

After their bilateral meeting in Donetsk, President Victor Yushchenko and President Lech Kaczynski of Poland opened the 9th Ukraine-Poland Economic Forum.

Speaking at the event President Yushchenko praised achievements of Ukraine and Poland in their trade-economic cooperation growth. According to him there are currently 1214 enterprises in Ukraine with Polish investments and 8 companies in Poland that Ukraine invests into with the latter number growing.

Pointing to the fact that so far Polish side has been investing most in western Ukraine enterprises President Yushchenko invited Polish businessmen to cooperation with industrial companies in the east of our country.

President Yushchenko also suggested expanding advertisement of Ukraine’s enterprises business attractiveness so that Polish businessmen became better familiar with Ukrainian markets potential.

He separately stressed that stirring up cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish businesses brings our country closer to integration into the EU, which remains unchanged course for our country.

From his part President Lech Kaczynski also invited businessmen of Poland to benefit from advantages of Ukrainian markets. He said that political ties between our countries are very close; therefore economic ties should also deepen. “Relations between friendly states should develop and boarders should be no obstacle for that”, - he said.
